Jodi Rosen Wine

Jodi Rosen Wine is an attorney with the firm of Rachlis Duff & Peel, LLC, where she has practiced since 2018.  She has trial and appellate experience in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on intellectual property and employment matters.

Experience

Jodi Rosen Wine has over 27 years of commercial litigation experience. She has handled multiple cases in federal and state courts, as well as arbitrations and mediations involving false advertising, unfair competition, fraud, defamation, products liability, insurance coverage, mortgage and mechanics lien foreclosures, contract breaches, breaches of fiduciary duties and a variety of statutory violations.

Ms. Wine has significant experience in electronic discovery using a variety of e-discovery tools and platforms.  She has conducted webinars regarding e-discovery and related topics (computer assisted review, Sedona Principles, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure), and has broad experience in the implementation of litigation holds, negotiating discovery plans and protective orders, and supervising document collection, review and production.

Ms. Wine has represented inventors and corporations in patent, copyright and trademark disputes. She has handled numerous cases involving trade secret misappropriation by departing officers and employees or stemming from failed vendor relationships.  In 2016, Ms. Wine was named one of the Top 250 Women in IP by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine after she assumed a leading role in the joint-defense group of a case which IP Law 360 described as the “largest current patent troll litigation” and was selected to conduct oral argument on behalf of all 300+ defendants in a Markman claim construction hearing.

Ms. Wine has represented employers in federal, state, and administrative cases involving race, gender and age discrimination, sexual harassment, FMLA, ADA and ADEA violations, workers’ compensation, wrongful termination, restrictive covenants, breaches of non-disclosure, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, trade secret misappropriation and breaches of fiduciary duty.  She has advised clients in matters involving hiring and termination, and has drafted employment, independent contractor, confidentiality, and separation agreements.

Ms. Wine is enthusiastic about the pro bono representation of persons and organizations that are unable to pay for legal services.  At her prior firm, she served as the Pro Bono Partner of the Chicago Office, responsible for the development and implementation of policies and the staffing and supervision of pro bono matters.

Since 2015, Ms. Wine has served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of GCC Midwest, Inc., a nonprofit organization promoting environmental sustainability.  She has provided legal counsel to the organization, assumed a primary role in budgeting, financial oversight, grant writing and reporting, and she has been an active member of the leadership team producing the organization’s annual One Earth Film Festival.
